Caution, this review may be bias. I live a 5 minute walk from jib lanes so it's extremely convenient for me to come here. The price used to be lower, but I notice it's been getting more and more expensive. The bowling alley is a bit old and doesn't feel as bright and clean as Whitestone lanes. This bowling alley is also located in pomonok queens which is a relatively poor neighborhood to live in. A lot of the poor families come here, and so it's always loud with kids screaming or thugs hanging out inside. The food is terrible and overpriced as well. Never buy food from here, as there are food spots around the bowling alley. The shoes are also a bit oversized, so get a half size smaller than your typical size. But this may vary depending on what shoe brand you currently wear. I always have Nikes and I need a half size smaller.
Very good spot to chill with the family. The food is good and the bar is great. Drinks are well made and the lanes are kid friendly. The bumpers only go up on the kids names and goes back down for the adult.
Still a fun place to bowl with friends, family, schools, camps, groups, organizations, and more. The owners are very nice.
JIB Lanes is a great experience for first time bowlers who can practice their skills and learn new techniques. Sometimes, when the owner is there he will be glad to help you and give you some expert tips on how to bowl properly and what size bowling ball is right for you.
