A great place to spend an afternoon. Perfect for a first date.

This Zoo although small was a really great attraction for my young kids. The petting zoo and feeding the animals as you walk along was a big hit!! We were able to get really up close and personal with the animals which had the kids super excited. We didn't have enough quarters for the feeding machines but we still were able to have a good time. The total Zoo experience was about 2 1/2 hrs tops which made it the perfect afternoon activity. We will definitely be going again.

I lived in Queens for 3 decades and never visited. Now that I have kids who dictate my life we decided to go. Great experience. Every staff member was friendly and helpful, and the exhibits were laid out perfectly to circle the park, see everything and enjoy every minute of it. The rides next store were the icing on the cake. A little expensive(the rides not the zoo) but no waits, perfectly sized for 10 and younger and again, very nice staff. Very pleasantly surprised.

A small well kept zoo where you can get up close to the animals and not be overwhelmed. It's not the Bronx Zoo but that's what give it it's charm. The petting zoo is a must, all the animals really seem happy. The staff could not have been friendlier. Afterwards a stroll through the park to the Geosphere is a must.

The Queens Zoo does a good job at making the visitor feel like they're not a few miles away from Manhattan, or even suburbia, as it's hidden in the trees that surround Flushing Meadows. They have a wide array of species, mostly mammals, and an amazingly-designed aviary. Be sure to go on a day when the weather isn't too extreme, because a lot of walking is involved, and more animals might be out. Once you're finished with the main zoo, there's a petting zoo across the entrance, where you're welcomed by animals ready to be petted, and especially fed. It's a great place for outings with kids, friends, dates, and any imaginable companion!

Great place to see some amazing looking animals and not that expensive. Also maybe like three hours is all that you need to see everything. The only down fall is that parking is challenging.
