I had attempted to help her out but she either should have realised that US Open is a reason for closure or asked the authorities of US Open around the park, not picking on strangers including me, then I wouldn't have wrote the first two paragraphs along my comment and my time hadn't being disadvantaged.
The heart of this museum is the scale model of New York City. A beautiful work of model building. If you enjoy looking at maps and models, then you will love it. Also has a nice collection of 1964 world's fair artifacts and models.
I was very disappointed the prices for the pumpkins were very expensive. I bought a pumpkin at key food for $7. At the farm the same size pumpkin was 20$. The only good outcome was the pictures we took there.
Truly a piece of history, not just because it was part of the original World's Fair in the 1960's but the museum and panorama are one of a kind! I miss this place so much, born and raised in Flushing for almost 52 1/2 years of my life, now i call home in California.
It was cool, small museum but kept up very well including bathrooms. Pieces focus on modern art. A few pieces were about Queens (which I thought all the pieces would be about). They occasionally have events so always check website or call to find out. The gift shop is very cool, lots of Queens products from key chains to shirts, including other great stuff. Great place to take the family and spend an hour.
Recently prior to I posted this, as I paced through Flushing Corona Park to Corona, the time I had almost got off the Zoo bridge, I saw an African gal wanted my help to enter the Queens Museum and told me that they were closed.
Attention, the news of Queens Museum says that they will NOT open from Aug 28 to Sept. 10 due to US Open Tournament. Keep this in mind!
