Best place in Queens by far!!!! I have been a client for almost 15 years now. My daughter and I love this place. You cannot find better prices for the excellent service and care like what you receive by the Reaction staff My daughter and I always leave with beautiful, soft, flowing hair. I also enjoy watching all the beautiful styling that's done while I'm under the dryer. It's amazing to see so many types of styling happening under one roof. Short hair, longer hair, weaves of all kinds and refreshing georgeous coloring. The staff are always friendly, they know you by name (if you're a regular) and the owner is regularly present to engage in conversation with clients about their hair. What's great too, is there is a hair supply store two doors over with everything you need: hair and nail products. This hair supply store has lots of hair selections and a wide selection of items for keeping natural hair healthy. The conditioner selection is awesome! Reaction Salon has it all, excellent service, best prices by far, and a clean, comfortable environment. It's a classy spot. Go treat yourself. Reaction's wash, set, and blowdry are the cheapest I know of in Queens, NY, so you can take care of your hair even if you're on a tight budget and I promise you'll look and feel beautiful when you leave. Everyone is really sweet there.
Today was my first time here. I've been getting sew in weaves for several years now from the same two people but I do believe today was the best one I've gotten. It was quite a wait but it's a salon that does first come first serve, so what do you expect? I'll definitely be going back.
I've been coming to this salon for approximately 10 years. My experiences here have been great. I like this place for its convenience and because the stylists that work here are very fast workers. They all know how to blow dry very well. A lot of women come here to get their weaves in which the stylists here are good at too. The salon is also very elegant and clean. The only thing I dislike about this salon is the way some of the stylist color client's hair. I don't think that some of them are experts at applying it or even mixing it. Nonetheless, I do like the way my hair looks once it's been washed and blow dried. I like my hair straight and sometimes wavy at the bottom. But I mostly come here for a wash and set which to me the stylists are very good at. I also love the way they cut and/or trim my hair here . Stylists here are good at trimming and layering hair too.
Update: I no longer go here, nor do I suggest anybody else does, they put perm in my hair when they washed it for a wash and set. I'm so livid. The texture in my hair is gone. Never again.
This place is literally the only one I let do my hair for the last 5 years. They can get really crowded and crazy at times but thats uunderstandable considering the price and location. It's true that they give a preference to their more loyal and frequent customers, I took a hiatus for like 6 months and they stopped treating me with the urgency I got when I would go ever 2 weeks. If you have natural hair, go to either Menorca or Elena, they're really good and don't burn your hair, plus Menorca doesn't get scissor happy when it's for a trim. I've sinced moved to Jersey and still make that trip to to get my wash and set.
I've been going to this hair salon for a while and I must say that the customer service has rapidly declined over the years. Yes, the staff has expanded but that has not made it any better; now most of the employees don't know what's going on and do poor jobs. I have natural curly hair and if it gets a little knotty they just rip it out as a quick fix. They also charge about $10 more if you have natural hair. In the end my hair is straight, but I as I'm leaving I feel like I'm abandoning half of my hair in the store. I know there are a limited amount of clean and semi-efficient hair salons in the area; however I suggest you all look elsewhere.
