Not one to care much for carrousels as active entertainment, I do appreciate 10 min of calliope music and at a glance of painted wood horses from way back when. There is a concession stand and picnic tables. Unfortunately, it is somewhat hidden which probably accounts for the dearth of riders.
The park is a good park. I take my daughter to the carousel and it's a place for families. I attended a children's birthday party and it was nice. The children was running around and playing. The disappointment came when I saw other patrons drinking open containers of alcohol, smoking weed and walking their dogs on the grounds without cleaning up after their dogs. The dogs was walking and running where the children was playing.
Very nice historic and local Sunday or kids birthday party entertainment. Carousel build and open in 1904 still in a great shape
My 2yr old son loved it friendly staff good with the kids amazing place to take the kids
The park need to have a more restricted policy on these issues.
